I was born in Brockton, MA, also known as "Shoe City" and the "City of Champions." It was the hometown of boxing champions Rocky Marciano and Marvin Hagler. I never threw a punch in my life and everyday I wear the same pair of motorcycle boots I've owned for the past 25 years so Brockton was important to me in my youth because it was located 30 minutes south of a thriving Boston punk rock scene. Music still plays a large part of my life and influences much of my creativity behind the camera.
I have BA in Communications and Film from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts and a MA in Museum Studies from the University of San Francisco in San Francisco, California. I'm the sole proprietor of Ray Bussolari Photography, and I specialize in environmental portraiture and fine art work. My first love is classic black and white film portraiture. I'm currently the head curator, exhibition designer, and collections manager at the Foster Youth Museum in Oakland, California.
